In October 2024, the MAG Headquarters team participated in a multi-day, multi-agency mission to fly emergency supplies to several counties in Western North Carolina hardest hit by Hurricane Helene.
MAG has participated in hurricane relief operations throughout the years in various countries around the Caribbean, but never this close to home.
MAG pilots Sean Garrigan and Alan brooks were certainly able to put their missionary flying skills to use. But providentially, they were also able to directly serve communities that have been a blessing to our apprentices as Sean does MAG’s mountain and advanced training in that very area of the NC mountains.
We flew critical supplies into Avery County, Banner Elk, and Foothills Regional airports.
Beyond the flying, and the great interagency cooperation, our faithful MAG supporters and sponsoring churches stepped up as well, quickly supplying all the funding needed to accomplish these flights. Thank you to all who responded to our plea for assistance.
This was reportedly the largest civilian airlift in American history - and a tremendous opportunity to not only meet an immediate physical need and to showcase the importance of civilian aviation, but to share the love of Jesus Christ right here in our own state as well.
Mission accomplished!
